Science is a real problem for Islam, especially in the hadith. According to this hadith, we should see that Adam should be 90 feet tall (30 meters):

Also not only should we see Adam at 30 meters/90 feet tall, we should also see a declining of stature in the fossil record from 90 feet down to 5-6 feet today. But that is not the case. We do not see this. In fact, we see the opposite.
People have grown larger over time. If you have any doubts, go visit the bodies of the Pharaoh’s in Cairo, Egypt. They are disturbingly thin-boned and small.
Additionally, the current tallest fossil of ancient/pre-historical humans is at 6’4″ (193 cm), the Longshan Giant of China. Ancient peoples were much smaller. We have grown in height and girth as time has pressed on.
But there’s more. According to the hadith, we should also see spinal columns everywhere in the fossil record, and in the dirt. Considering the billions and billions of history who have lived, according to this hadith, there should exist every single backbone.
These hadith are considered most authentic, and yet they do not match observable research and science.
This is the point where Islamic leaders will typically say
– It’s just context you don’t know
– It’s just figurative
But what is the context? There is none for these. And are these figurative? There is not a single reason or indicator for us to take these as anything less than what they say.
